Tuesdays 7:30-8:30 and 16:00-17:00 (Charlotte Haskins)

In this course we will be working on improving English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills for administrative workplaces. Grammar and vocabulary revision will also play an important role. As always there will be a strong focus on speaking skills and building confidence to use English at work. You may join even if you didn’t attend previous Administrative English courses.

English Language Skills
Mondays 8:15-9:45 (Robin Lohmann)

This course is designed to develop and secure English language competence and fluency. All important grammatical structures will be reviewed and applied in a variety of listening, reading, speaking and writing exercises. The course content will be part of the PO2015 Module 1 written exam for Secondary and Eula-Secondary students of English, but is open to anyone interested in improving their English language skills!

Flipping the Classroom
Mondays 10:15-11:45 (Jeremy Bearden)

What does it mean to flip a classroom? Have you ever heard of this phrase? In this course you will learn about the method behind the phrase and how it is being used in the United States. You will also learn how to use this method in your classroom through the use of digital media and film. You will produce materials that can later be used with your future students. As your instructor, I will assist you every step of the way, so don't worry if you aren't familiar with digital media.

Second Language Acquisition, Language Teaching/Technology
Wednesdays 12:15-13:45 (Meryl Kusyk)

This class will familiarize future language teachers with important concepts regarding the acquisition of a second (foreign) language. We will discuss the different environments in which acquisition may occur as well as the different learning processes that subsequently take place. Special focus will be placed on digital environments. In increasing awareness about how languages are learned, it is the goal of this class to equip future teachers with the ability to recognize and optimize language learning opportunities in a multitude of contexts.

Key concepts covered include informal/formal language learning, implicit/explicit learning and computer assisted language learning (CALL).

Parlons français – cours de conversation
Montag 14:15-15:45 (Veronica Rauner)
