Study abroad semester in Ghana: Full scholarship for student teachers

As part of the DAAD-funded project “Get Ready for Global Teaching!”, a full scholarship is being offered to student teachers for a study visit to the University of Cape Coast during the 2026/2027 winter semester.

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) is a public university and is regarded as one of the leading universities in West Africa. The university was founded in 1962 and, alongside its strong focus on teacher training, now offers a comprehensive range of courses to its approximately 30,000 students. UCC is situated in the historic town of Cape Coast, right on the Atlantic coast, and offers not only a stimulating academic environment but also a wide range of leisure activities. Exchange students can usually be accommodated in halls of residence directly on the UCC campus.

Requirements:

This call for applications is open to students on all teacher education programmes. Students who have not yet spent time abroad or who would be unable to do so without a scholarship are strongly encouraged to apply.

Scholarship:

The scholarship comprises a one-time travel allowance (€1,475) and a monthly stipend of €1,275 plus a monthly insurance allowance of €35 over a period of 4 months.
