If you are studying at one of our partner universities that has signed a student exchange agreement with us, we look forward to welcoming you to our university as an exchange student for one or two semesters!
Our university is distinguished by the close and personalized support we provide to our international exchange students, as well as the opportunity to choose courses from our diverse range of offerings across all faculties. If you are studying to become a teacher, we also offer you the opportunity to complete a study-integrated internship at a local primary or secondary school during the semester.
You can also benefit from our one-month, free orientation program, which includes a buddy program, intensive German language courses, and a variety of activities and excursions organized by our International Club.

Options for International Degree-Seeking Students
Did you earn your high school diploma or previous degree abroad and would now like to pursue a standard bachelor’s or master’s degree program at the Karlsruhe University of Education and earn a degree here?
Our university offers an attractive range of programs for this purpose, as well as guidance on the application process, ongoing academic support, and free resources such as workshops on “Intercultural Competence” and “German as a Language of Science.”

Experiencing interculturality on our campus
During your studies at the Karlsruhe University of Education, you have various opportunities to engage in international exchange, improve your language skills, and gain intercultural experience without having to leave our campus.
A growing number of courses benefit from our collaboration with international partner universities. Through guest lectures and collaboration with students from partner universities in virtual formats, these courses are enriched with interesting and important international and global perspectives.
As part of the “Get Ready for Global Teaching!” project funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), you can participate in our international summer school, which is designed in collaboration with faculty and students from international partner universities and held at our university.
If you’d like to actively improve or deepen your language skills, you’re welcome to take advantage of the free language courses offered by our Language Learning Center (LLC) as well as the university’s internal language tandem program.
In addition, exciting initiatives within the university and across institutions in Karlsruhe offer diverse opportunities to build and maintain intercultural connections.
Going Abroad while studying at Karlsruhe University of Education
Regardless of which degree program or subjects you are studying at the Karlsruhe University of Education, your studies offer an attractive framework for integrating study abroad programs or internships abroad into your academic journey.
You can draw on a wide network of partner universities as well as contacts with internship providers that our university maintains abroad. In addition, funding programs such as Erasmus+, the Baden-Württemberg STIPENDIUM, PROMOS, or the DAAD program “Lehramt.international” provide a reliable framework for organizing and financing study-related stays abroad.
The International Office is happy to serve as your point of contact in this area. We cordially invite you to our information sessions at the start of the semester. There, we will provide you with the most important information so that you can successfully integrate one or more study abroad stays into your studies at PH Karlsruhe. Even if you haven’t planned a study abroad stay right at the start of your studies, take advantage of our information sessions in your first semester so you don’t miss out on anything and can plan your studies optimally.
