The academic advisory service at the Institute of German Language and Literature provides subject-specific support to all students studying German.

• It provides assistance and guidance on academic organisational matters (e.g. at various stages of the degree programme or regarding examination regulations).
• It handles the recognition of credits in German obtained outside the Karlsruhe University of Education (e.g. following a change of subject or university, or during semesters spent abroad).
• It provides information and advice on individual and specific problems encountered during the course of study and details further support services available.

The focus is on individual (and, of course, confidential) discussions and a solution-oriented approach.

Our FaVe is at the heart of the German students’ community and actively champions your interests and concerns.

Who are we?

FaVe Deutsch consists of dedicated students who have made it their mission to make the study of German language and literature at our university as enriching as possible. We are your point of contact for all questions relating to your studies, from the initial orientation right through to support during exam periods.

Our tasks and goals: 

• Events and activities: Whether it’s evenings spent together in the park or social gatherings to discuss your studies and make new friends – we regularly organise events that strengthen the sense of community and enrich your time at university.
• Representing students’ interests: We represent the interests of German students at the Department of German Language and Literature and are committed to ensuring that students’ concerns are heard. To this end, we have two votes in department meetings.
• Networking and exchange: We promote interaction between students and lecturers to create a vibrant and supportive network.
