Subject: Sport
Physical activity and sport are of great importance to society as a whole. For children and young people, physical activity, play and sport are inextricably linked to healthy overall development.
Alongside key principles of sports science from the fields of sport and education, sport and society, and training and movement theory, you will learn about subject-specific theories, models and empirical findings in the Sport module. As part of your studies in the subject of Sport, you will also systematically develop your own motor skills and abilities and acquire a broad range of didactic and methodological skills, both specific to individual sports and applicable across different sports. You will deepen your knowledge in the fields of sports pedagogy, social sciences and natural sciences as they relate to sport, and learn about career paths in an extracurricular context.
You will explore various ways of structuring movement-based teaching processes, trialling and reflecting on them through practical examples. Furthermore, you will acquire fundamental sports science working methods, approaches to understanding and research methodologies. Alongside acquiring a wide range of subject-specific and pedagogical content relating to sport and physical activity, you will refine your communication and presentation skills, your ability to learn independently, and develop skills for effective group work and successful project work as part of your sports studies.
