Entrance Examination for studying Sports
You can only study the Sports Education degree programme if you have passed the entrance examination. Other degree programmes that include a sports component do not require an entrance examination.

To register, please email the registration form to gabriele.fluhar(at)vw.ph-karlsruhe.de. Please do not forget to attach the documents specified on the registration form!
A confirmation of receipt is usually sent within a few days to the email address provided on the application form.
Information on the examination procedure
The deadline for registering for the entrance examination is always 15 May each year.

First sitting: 10 June 2026
For all those who have registered in due time and in the correct manner.
Second sitting: 8 July 2026
For all candidates who have registered in due time and in the correct manner, but who were unable to attend the first sitting for a valid reason or who did not pass all modules.
1st session
08:00: Registration + allocation to a group (PH sports hall)
08:30: Welcome
08:30 – 10:00: Apparatus gymnastics, gymnastics/dance (PH sports hall)
10:15 – 12:00: Athletics (KIT stadium)
12:00 – 13:30: Swimming (KIT indoor swimming pool)
from 2:00 pm: Ball games (KIT Stadium)
2nd session
08:00: Registration + allocation to a group (PH Sports Hall)
08:15: Welcome + warm-up
08:30 – 10:00: Apparatus gymnastics, gymnastics/dance, ball games (PH sports hall)
from 10:15 am – 12:00 pm: Athletics (KIT Stadium)
from 12:00 – 14:00: Swimming (KIT Swimming Pool)
from 14:00: Issuing of certificates

: Sports Hall of the Karlsruhe University of Education, Moltkestraße 10, 76133 Karlsruhe (between the canteen and Hebel Realschule)

Student assistants (group leaders) will help with moving between venues.
Participation
Anyone who has registered in due time and in the correct manner may sit the first sitting.
Anyone who has registered in due time and in the correct manner and was excused from attending the first sitting may sit the second sitting (known as the resit). The same applies to anyone who did not pass all components at the first sitting.
Those who did not pass all parts of the examination on the first sitting are only required to attend the resit for the parts they have yet to complete.

The Sports Department Representatives are the point of contact for any enquiries regarding the practice day
The Sports Department Representative Committee organises a practice day once a year (towards the end of May) for those taking the sports aptitude test.

To be eligible to take part, you must have registered correctly and on time for the entrance examination at the secretariat of the Institute for Physical Education & Sport at the PH KA!

It is only possible to sit the examination again the following year. To do so, you must register by 15 May. You will then have to sit the entire examination again.
